Two Little Friends

Two little friends, born almost three years apart. Two little friends, whose birthdays bookend the same week in April. Two little friends, who share so many of the same interests and who play together so nicely so much of the time.

The sweetest little friends from the moment they met. 🙂

I can't imagine being almost three and getting to meet a new baby brother, but I guess I did have that experience once in my life! 🙂 So much just looking and loving at the beginning. I can't wait to do this all over again!

Sebastian has shared so kindly with Emmett from little up, beginning with lollipops and graduating to machines, puzzles, bikes, and Legos. 🙂

Emmett looks more like Alec, but his interests align more with Sebastian's, and it's been so cute to watch them do more and more of the same things.

For a while Emmett played really well by himself, but lately he's always asking Sebastian, "Will you play with me?"

Dirt and big machines are two favorites around here.

Whenever the big boys make a cool robot, rocket, or drone, Emmett always wants one, too. Sometimes I make him one. Sometimes Alec or Sebastian does. They are so sweet to be quick to help and include their littlest brother. 🙂

This year Sebastian and Emmett had a joint birthday party, and neither one of them minded a bit. Aunt Dora made them each the cutest little cake, a fire engine for Emmett and an accompanying forest fire for Sebastian. They shared their party and their cakes and their gifts and their balloons like pros, and Emmett didn't even notice that Alec took off with all his bubble wands, and Sebastian still hasn't realized that some of the matchbox cars that Emmett has been playing with so faithfully are actually his.
