The Crazy Side of Extraordinary

Sometimes what makes life extraordinary is the pure craziness of it. And it's definitely a crazy world I've entered.....

...one of camping out in a guest house till the real house is livable
...one of sharing tight quarters and long days and lack of sleep
...one of open skies and beautiful country just waiting to be explored
...one of one-eyed cats and bear-like dogs
...one of grubby hands holding mine
...one of washing plastic spoons and plastic bowls so they can be used countless times even though they're disposable
...one of drinking tea in my pjs and spending some time with God after everyone else is gone to bed
...one of covering my head with a little boy's long-sleeved shirt since I forgot a bandanna
...one of hamsters running madly in their cages throughout the night
...one of doing hike prep in the woods with my niece after dark
...one of super early bedtimes and super early breakfasts
...one of working in one house and sleeping in another one and not really belonging yet in either of them
...one of little boys asking me to hold them (even if they weigh only fifteen pounds less than I do)
...one of ragged nails and paint-splattered clothes
...one of resigning myself to being dirty but not being able to resist putting on yummy lotion so I at least feel human 🙂
...one of meals cooked on griddles and granola bars for snacks
...one of shower caps over coverings and painting with my sisters
...one of hard work and the satisfaction of a job well done
...one of mattresses on the floor and reusing towels and living out of suitcases
...one of laughter and dust and pounding headaches and more laughter
...one of croaking frogs and writing blog posts when I should be sleeping
...one of life that brims over, of a God Who is so good

Yes, it's a crazy world and will only get crazier, but it's something other than that as well....it's beautiful, plain and simple.

Life is beautiful.
