How to Salvage a Failed Father’s Day Gift

When your Father's Day gift is first late and then you can't even make it work the way it's supposed to, make a "treasure hunt" with the pieces and give it to your husband anyway.

Start with a sign so he knows what's going on. To make sure he sees it, attach it to your vehicle and then park said vehicle sideways in the driveway. He'll be curious before he even knows to be curious. 🙂

Scatter the least secret-revealing pieces in the carport, leading him to the front door.

Put the next piece right inside the front door. Do not meet him at the door.

Use baby Puffs to entice him around the corner to where you have another sign.

Make him close his eyes and do something silly.

Then send the baby sailing toward him on the rest of the surprise-that-didn't-work. Make sure the baby is holding a "help" sign.

Then let him figure out how to make a remote control car pull a bumbo with a baby in it.

Not only will he look like a hero in that silly cape . . . he'll feel like one, too! (And of course, you don't post a picture of him in said cape--heroes don't look silly in public.)

Happy late Father's Day to the best daddy I know. You're our hero.
